Simon Richardson, Mayor of Byron Bay, is a regular client of Paul Macnamara’s Byron based Barber shop, Jack the Snipper.
Here’s what he has to say recently about the great community that has formed around this small Barber shop on the far East coast of Australia.
“OK, OK, I confess I am a wee bit biased when it comes to this business, because, I put my hair in it’s care.
At Jack the Snipper, Paul creates a space and feeling of comfort and relaxation. I don’t know whether it is the complimentary Stone and Wood on arrival or his damn chilled demeanour but Paul makes getting a haircut for men, like going to a day spa for women.”
“As he says himself, ‘We like men to be at ease. Take a load off, have a beer and make themselves feel better… We believe that being Barbers and providing a space for men to come together is a right of passage for young Men and a comfort to those who are older. A brotherhood essentially. A place where one can come, relax and feel better about themselves.’
And you thought getting a haircut was just about hair!…”
